User Guide
Please make sure the vehicle model and ECU type are fully compatible before use.
Before writing data, be sure to back up the original ORI file.
All operations must be carried out under stable power supply and in a professional environment.
For remote technical support, please contact after-sales service and provide the ORI/MOD file name.
A Honda DTC Off Service by File is a professional ECU (Engine Control Unit) tuning solution where specific Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are permanently disabled within a vehicle’s software. Instead of just clearing a code temporarily with a scanner, this service modifies the ECU firmware to prevent the system from ever monitoring or reporting that specific error.
Key Features of the Service
Custom File Modification: You upload your vehicle’s original ECU file to a provider (like MyChiptuningfiles or TuningBot), who then edits the “error mask” to suppress specific P-codes.
Permanent Removal: The targeted fault codes are deleted at the software level, meaning the Check Engine Light (MIL) will not turn on for those specific issues, and the car will not enter “limp mode” because of them.
Selective Disabling: Only the requested codes are removed, leaving other critical engine safety and diagnostic functions fully operational.
Common Use Cases
This service is typically used for vehicles modified for off-road, motorsport, or industrial use where certain factory components have been removed:
Emissions Deletes: Removing codes triggered by deactivating the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation), DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter), or Catalytic Converter.
Sensor Issues: Disabling codes for faulty or disconnected sensors (e.g., NOx, O2, or swirl actuators) that do not affect core engine performance.
“Ghost Codes”: Eliminating recurring error codes that persist even after the underlying mechanical issue has been addressed.
Important Considerations
Legal Restrictions: Disabling emissions-related DTCs is often illegal for street-legal vehicles and may cause the car to fail emissions inspections.
Hardware Required: To use this service, you need specialized tools (like Alientech or Swiftec) to “read” the file from your Honda’s ECU and “write” the modified file back to it.
Not a Repair: Removing a DTC does not fix the physical fault; it only stops the car from reporting it.
Do you need help finding a specific service provider or identifying which ECU model your Honda uses for this process?
