Common OBD-II Pin Functions
Common standardized functions include Pin 4 chassis ground, Pin 5 signal ground, Pin 6 CAN High, Pin 7 K-Line, Pin 14 CAN Low and Pin 16 battery positive. Pins 2 and 10 may be used for SAE J1850 on compatible vehicles. Other pins can be manufacturer-specific.
Vehicle Compatibility
Designed for use with vehicles and equipment using a standard 16-pin OBD-II diagnostic connection, subject to the required protocol and pin configuration. Applications may include passenger cars, SUVs, vans, light commercial vehicles and other compatible automotive systems.
Important: Wire colors are not a universal OBD-II pinout standard. Always identify each conductor and verify the exact pin assignment, voltage, polarity and equipment wiring diagram with a multimeter before connection. Incorrect wiring can damage the vehicle ECU, diagnostic interface or programming equipment. This is a passive wiring cable and does not itself provide diagnostic or programming functions.
