This Car Air Conditioning Leak Test Detector Set is a diagnostic tool designed for identifying leaks in R134A and R12 A/C systems using ultraviolet (UV) fluorescent technology. It is suitable for both professional and DIY automotive maintenance.
Kit Components
28 LED UV Flashlight: Constructed from aluminum alloy, this high-intensity 385–395 nm light source makes fluorescent dye glow brightly for easy detection.
UV Protective Glasses: Yellow-tinted goggles that protect your eyes from UV light and enhance the visibility of the glowing dye.
Fluorescent Dye (Oil): A high-concentration tracer agent that circulates within the A/C system to pinpoint leaks.
Batteries: Usually includes 3x AA or AAA batteries to power the flashlight.
How to Use the Kit
Inject Dye: Add the fluorescent agent into the A/C system through the low-side service port (the larger diameter tubing). A typical car only requires one small application (about 2.5ml to 5ml).
Circulate: Start the engine and run the air conditioner on maximum for 10 to 30 minutes to allow the dye to cycle through the entire system.
Inspect: Turn off the engine and put on the UV protective glasses. In a darkened area, shine the UV flashlight over A/C components like the compressor, condenser, hoses, and fittings.
Identify Leaks: A leak will appear as a bright green or yellow glow at the source of the escape.

Key Safety & Tips
Clean Before Starting: Wipe down existing oily residue before testing to avoid “false positives” from old spills.
Check Common Spots: Focus on O-rings, hose crimps, the condenser (vulnerable to road debris), and the compressor shaft seal.
Compatibility: This kit is compatible with both older R12 and modern R134A systems.
