Dragy GPS Performance Meter – Professional Vehicle Acceleration, Speed & Lap-Time Testing Tool
Dragy is a compact GPS/GNSS-based automotive performance meter designed to accurately measure acceleration, speed, braking and distance-based performance. It is suitable for performance-car owners, tuning workshops, racers and automotive professionals who want repeatable real-world performance data without installing a permanent measuring system.
The current-generation Dragy DRG70/DRG70-C uses a 10th-generation u-blox high-performance GNSS module, with simultaneous support for GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou. The manufacturer lists an update rate of up to 25 Hz and connection to as many as 32 satellites. Dragy
Main Performance Measurements
Dragy can be used for popular acceleration and distance tests including:
– 0–60 mph
– 0–100 km/h
– 60–130 mph
– 100–200 km/h
– 1/8 mile
– 1/4 mile
– 1/2 mile
– Custom acceleration ranges
– Trap speed and elapsed time
– Braking measurements such as 100–0 km/h
– Lap and track performance through compatible Dragy functionality/apps
– Slope information for performance runs
Dragy’s software can automatically chart slope on time slips, and results can be saved, compared and shared with other users or submitted to the Dragy leaderboard. Dragy Motorsports
High-Precision GNSS Technology
The current DRG70 generation uses a 10th-generation u-blox GNSS chipset. It can receive signals from four satellite systems simultaneously:
GPS • GLONASS • Galileo • BeiDou
The manufacturer specifies up to 25 Hz update rate, up to 32 satellites, and a customized antenna with a low-noise amplifier designed to improve signal stability and positioning performance.
This makes Dragy particularly useful when checking the effect of legitimate vehicle modifications, comparing before/after performance, testing acceleration consistency or recording track performance.
Dragy Mobile App
Dragy connects to a compatible smartphone through Bluetooth and works with the Dragy mobile application. The Dragy app is available for both iOS and Android. Dragy Motorsports
Through the app, users can review performance results, save runs, compare metric and SAE measurements, create custom performance windows and share results.
For example, you can measure:
0–100 km/h → 100–200 km/h → 1/4 mile → trap speed
and keep the results together for easier vehicle-performance comparison.
Dragy Lap & Track Use
Dragy is not limited to straight-line acceleration testing. The current ecosystem also supports lap-driving applications. The manufacturer describes real-time lap-performance functionality, while current Dragy hardware also supports several third-party performance applications.
Compatible third-party applications currently listed by Dragy include RaceChrono, Lap Legend, PB Buddy, VRacer and TrackLink. Third-party applications may not support every Dragy feature. Long Battery Life
The latest DRG70 generation is designed for low power consumption and provides more than 20 hours of continuous use according to the manufacturer. Dragy
The newer DRG70-C uses a USB-C charging port. Dragy’s FAQ notes that the main charging-port difference is that DRG70 uses Micro-USB while DRG70-C uses USB-C. Dragy Motorsports
Compact & Easy Installation
Dragy is very small and portable. Published specifications put the device at approximately:
30 × 80 × 15 mm
It can be positioned inside the vehicle for testing and then easily stored when not required. Depending on the package/version, mounting plates or accessories may also be supplied. Burger Motorsports Inc
Ideal For
Dragy is particularly useful for performance and tuning workshops that want to document before-and-after acceleration results, as well as enthusiasts who want to compare vehicle performance.
Typical applications include stock-vs-tuned performance comparison, acceleration testing, drag-strip measurements, braking tests, track/lap analysis and repeatability testing after legitimate mechanical or calibration changes.
Dragy vs Dragy Pro
The standard current-generation Dragy already provides the core GPS performance-measurement functionality. Dragy Pro adds more advanced hardware, including a 6-axis IMU and 128 MB built-in storage. The current official comparison lists both versions with a 10th-generation u-blox chipset, 20+ hour battery capability and USB-C on the current models.
